Motorola has added a new smartphone in the G-series named Motorola G42 in India today. Actually, the smartphone was released globally last month. But it is now available to buy in India. It is the successor of the G41 smartphone. Talking some main highlights, the smartphone has a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, Snapdragon 680 SoC, 50 MP triple camera setup, 5,000 mAh battery, etc. The device runs on Android 12 and the company promised that the phone will get a major update and 3-year security updates. Motorola G42 Design
The Motorola G42 comes with a simple design. On the front side, there is a quite big display with a punch-hole camera in the center cutout attached with a selfie camera. It is a bezel-less display with an average chin at the bottom. You will get stereo speaker support in this headset.
On the rear side, there is a triple camera setup in a rectangular setup with an LED flash. In the center, there is a Motorola logo and at the bottom, there is the brand name. You will get a side-mounted fingerprint sensor attached to the power button. The weight of the phone is 174 Grams. The phone comes with an IP52 rating.

Motorola G42 comes with a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080×2400 pixels. Additionally, it has a 60 Hz refresh rate. The G42 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC with octa-core processor. The processor is paired with 4 GB LPDDR4X RAM & 64 GB of inbuilt storage which is expandable up to 1 TB. Additionally, the smartphone runs on Android 12 based on MyUI custom skin out of the box.
Camera and Battery
The Motorola G42 comes with a triple-camera setup including a 50 MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture, an 8 MP Ultra-Wide (f/2.2) camera, and a 2 MP Micro (f/2.4) sensor. There is a 16 MP selfie camera for selfies and video calls. Moreover, there is a 5,000 mAh battery with 20W charging support.
Connectivity and Security
Talking about connectivity, the smartphone supports 5G, 4G, VoLTE, Bluetooth, Wifi, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C charging. For biometric security, the Motorola G42 has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
